The bed

The Sevier lake bed.

Independent geologists describe a light-colored sandy/silty clay of Lake Bonneville origin in the Sevier Desert, about 25 miles southwest of Delta. It is a surface deposit sampled with a soil auger — not a deep hard-rock mine.

Nearby, SITLA limestone lease ML 54502 — SITLA Southwest — sits on state trust land in the same desert. Beard’s 2025 reports and lab tests for that lease are in the data room. That is a different tenure from the BLM placers.

Soil structure and water

Fine-grained calcareous sediment can be applied to working ground to support tilth and moisture holding. Results depend on the receiving soil, rate, and management — not a one-rate product claim.

Mineral amendment

The documented bed is a sandy/silty clay with calcium, magnesium, sulfur, and trace elements. It is an amendment, not a complete fertilizer program.

Related-use donation

Qualified charities commit to use donated minerals for exempt agricultural or land-restoration work for at least three years. After that period they may explore further use with expert partners.
